Back By Popular Demand // My Return To Blogging

Oh, hey there!

Do you guys still love me? Did ya miss me? Of course you did (*stands in front of fan and does the BeyoncĂ© hair flip as demonstrated above*). I missed you people and this little ol' blog, too.

You guys! Can you believe it's been 4 months since I disappeared into thin air? Like, I don't even know what happened. One minute things were fine and dandy, and then I blinked and it was JULY? And, I was like... Didn't I used to be a book blogger? Do I even know how to blog anymore? It turns out that I do in fact remember a thing or two ;)

So, here I am! I wish that I could say that I spent the past four months brainstorming creative ideas for the blog and planning out what I'd do when I made my epic return to Girl Writes Reviews. But, I didn't. (Sorry, I ain't sorry.)

Here's what I did do during my little hiatus:
I have been in the biggest reading slump of my life for the past few months. That's the other reason why I haven't really been blogging. No Reading = No Reviews = No Blogging. I honestly don't know what happened because it is so unlike me to go so long without picking up a book. I was honestly afraid that I'd fallen out of love with reading. But, alas! I am back at it (I've almost finished three books this week!)

I've had a good, long break. But, I'm so excited to get back to reading and sharing my bookish thoughts and ideas with all of you wonderful readers!

Let me know in the comments what you've been up to. I feel so detached from the book blogging community and I need to play catch-up!

Talk to you all very very soon.

p.s. The title of this post is a lie. I am not popular. I have never been popular in any aspect of my life. The only time I feel popular is when my pet turtles freak out and chase after me when I walk past their tank. But, honestly, they only do that because they're greedy little monsters who stay begging for food.

p.p.s. This post is dedicated to the people who book blog like it's their day job. Kudos to you for being so incredibly passionate and committed. Tell me your secrets, please?

  1. WELCOME BACK! My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw that you were interning for Quiet Revolution: I'm reading Susan Cain's book right now! It's so incredibly fascinating and I'm learning a lot about myself and my tendencies. On a completely different note, please tell me how you feel about Swift and Tom Hiddleston dating. I'm slightly perplexed and sightly angry.
You missed some drama in the blogging world (apparently this woman has made scamming people her job, but what's even shittier is that she's also a blogger.) Basically, she uses her kids to get a bunch of extra ARC's at book festivals, and then either sells them for exorbant prices, or pretends to sell them and just takes your money and never gives you the books. So, she's a dime. Luckily, it's gotten enough attention that authors and publishing companies are finally noticing.
Congrats on getting out of that wretched book slump! I'm very happy you're back and can't wait for your upcoming posts. :)

    1. THANK YOU! Quiet taught me so much about introversion and understanding my personality and about creative thinking. So proud to say that I was a part of such an awesome mission. But anyway -- Tom Hiddles and T. Swizzles: I just think it's really weird? I think I'm just as perplexed as you. Like, I've seen the pictures of them together and I'm just like "But is this really real?" I was also kind of upset, too :( But it was mostly envy, if we're being honest ;) Also, I JUST read Parajunkee's blog post today about the whole ARC scam. It's so upsetting to know that people are tainting book blogger's reputations and ruining opportunities for everyone. It's also really sad that children are being used for scamming, too. But, I believe the book blogging community has enough genuine passion and love to rise above all the rest! Thanks again for your comment! You're TOO KIND. I'm excited to be back!
