Top Ten Tuesday // My One True Pairing(s)

The Top Ten Tuesday Meme is brought to you via
The Broke and The Bookish

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Well, Valentine's day is next week, so it's time to talk about love. Woohoo!

(It's up to you to decide whether that was sarcastic or not.)
(Hint: It was.)
(I don't believe in love. So, I only like to talk about fictional love.)
(It's up to you to decide whether that was sarcastic or not.)

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Valentine's Day Freebie. So, I'm going to talk about my OTPs because I have SO many. And, somehow I've never managed to even mention them on this blog? Weird.

Here is my list:

1. Celaena and Rowan from the Throne of Glass series.  Some of you Chaolaena shippers probably 'x'ed out of this screen as soon as you saw this one, but...sorry not sorry. I love Celaena and Rowan's bond. He accepts her for all that she is, and vice versa. Just look at them. I can just imagine Rowan whispering "I claim you, Fireheart" in her ear and punching me right in the feels. This is my ultimate OTP right here, fam. To Whatever End.  2. Kestrel and Arin from The Winner's Trilogy. These two genuinely make my heart hurt and I enjoy every minute of it. I'm really sad that their romantic roller coaster will be coming to an end soon but I'm also really excited to see if they end up together. (Honestly, I'll accept nothing less.)  3. Anne and Teach from Blackhearts.  Seeing that Blackhearts comes out today (!!!), you all are probably unfamiliar with these characters. Allow me to introduce you... These two! Their slow-burn romance is beautifully torturous. They hold a very special, very fresh place in my heart.     4. Shazi and Khalid from The Wrath and the Dawn.  These two lovebirds set my heart on fire last year with their twisted romance. They each have the intention of killing each other when they meet. But, it is true what they say -- there's a thin line between love and hate.  5. Lou and Will from Me Before You.  Honestly, I can't even talk about this one. The pain! I read this almost two years ago and the wound is still fresh. And then, the trailer for the movie dropped last week and I was hit by all of the heartwrenching feels yet again. I don't think I'll ever recover.  6. Sarai and Victor from Killing Sarai. These two are soooooooooo beyond twisted and flawed. But, they are also both incredibly strong. They understand each other like no one else. While their relationship is kind of toxic, it works, and I love reading about it. 7. Will and Tessa and Jem from The Infernal Devices.  This, technically, isn't a pairing but...oh well. I'm a rule breaking rebel. It's been two years since I read The Infernal Devices and I still stand by my initial impression that this is the greatest love triangle ever written. Tessa didn't choose between Will and Jem, so neither will I. Will and Jem are both incredibly good guys. They both love Tessa wholeheartedly and are capable of offering her genuine happiness. 8. Alec and Magnus from The Mortal Instruments. (I'm just keeping the Shadowhunter train rolling.) Watching Alec and Magnus' love bloom and grow over the course of the six Mortal Instruments books was absolutely magical. (Pun intendended.) They make each other better, which is one of the most important aspects of love. By the end of the series, Alec has become more comfortable and confident in himself and his sexuality and Magnus has learned to love again. I probably love these two as much as they love each other.  9. Eleanor & Park.  *Hums Mary J. Blige's Real Love* First love. Innocent love. Real and honest love. Eleanor & Park has it all. Theirs is definitely the realest romance I've ever read. Their love is adorable and heartbreaking, full of laughs and struggles. Eleanor and Park were meant for each other.   10. Levi and Cath from Fangirl. Surprise, surprise! Another Rainbow Rowell pick. Levi is so kind, sweet and sincere when it comes to Cath. I love that he doesn't care what other people think of her, or even what she thinks of herself -- he loves her no matter what. And she READS to him to help him study, and he loves it. And, they are just plain adorable. Another very realistic romance from Rainbow Rowell.

*which sucks cause I can't swim*

  1. What are some of your OTPs?  Do you also love any of the pairings I listed above? Do you have recommendations for books with OTPs that you think I'd love?
  2. Did you complete a Top Ten Tuesday this week?  If so, be sure to link it below!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
Talk to you soonish!

  1. You nailed the OTP pairings. Also, I am glad to find someone who agrees with Will, Jem and Tessa being in the greatest love triangle ever! This is the only love triangle that works for me. Alec & Magnus, Cath & Levi, Eleanor & Park and Kestrel & Arin are all amazing couples as well!

    1. Thanks, Nicole! I'm glad I'm not alone, too! It's very rare that I read a love triangle where I love both of the love interests. Usually it's an easy choice. And that's what makes Cassie's triangle so great!

  2. So many good OTPs. I love Eleanor & Park. One of my favourites!

  3. I'm perfectly fine with Celaena & Rowan. That means that Chaol is available for me. That's how it works right? But Levi and Cather are probably my top pair. They just melt my heart. Great choices! My TTT

    1. Hahahaha! I love your reasoning! (Have you read QoS yet? I don't want to spoil anything but you've still got some competition for Chaol.) Thanks, Miranda!

  4. Will and Tessa and Jem is like the ultimate most confusing otp. I don't even know who I ship with Tessa, I just want all of them to be happy! Malec is just sooo adorable and cute, they're like polar opposites and it's really a slow burn. Great list!
