The Re-Read Challenge 2016

Well, hello!

It's a new year, which means that it's time for some new reading challenges!

In 2016, I want to focus on re-reading some of my favorites.  So, I'm joining the 2016 Re-Read Challenge hosted by Kelly at Belle of the Literati.

Honestly, I very rarely re-read books.  I could probably say that I never do, actually.  I'm always so busy accumulating new books and looking to release dates in the future that I never stop to reminisce on my favorites of the past.  But that will change this year.  I declare 2016 a year of reflection for myself in all things. But, I'll start with books.

I am setting a very ambitious goal of re-reading 24 books (2 books per month).  Here are some of the titles I look forward to re-reading:
  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
  • The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
  • The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (Because I need to read The Dream Thieves and at this point I've forgotten everything that happened in the first book.  Oops.)
  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
  • The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
  • The Winner's Curse & The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
  • The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
  • The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
  • Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan
  • A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
  • The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  • Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
This is actually more than 24 books.  Like I said, this is very ambitious.  I'm sure that some of these will get left behind or scratched off of the list as the year progresses.  I'll likely pick up whatever I'm in the mood for.  These are just some of the books that I've been dying to read again but haven't found the time for.

I can't wait to re-read some of these, to notice things about these stories that I never noticed before, and to have that comforting feeling of nostalgia swell in my chest and tear away at my soul.  Well, it doesn't sound quite comforting when I put it like that, but you guys know the feeling.  It's a good feeling.

Challenge Accepted

  1. What reading challenges are you taking part in in 2016?
  2. Are there any books you would like to re-read soon?
Talk to you all soon!
