Waiting On Wednesday | I'll Give You The Sun

"There should be a horn or a gong or something to wake God.  Because I'd like to have a word with him.  Three words actually:  WHAT THE FUCK?!"

I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary
Expected Release Date: September 16, 2014

Synopsis: A brilliant, luminous story of first love, family, loss, and betrayal for fans of John Green, David Levithan, and Rainbow Rowell.

Jude and her brother, Noah, are incredibly close twins. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude surfs and cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them. But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and divisive ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as an unpredictable new mentor. The early years are Noah's story to tell. The later years are Jude's. What the twins don't realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they’d have a chance to remake their world.

This radiant, fully alive, sometimes very funny novel from the critically acclaimed author of The Sky Is Everywhere will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.

Why I'm Waiting On I'll Give You The Sun

There are quite a few reasons why I'm excited about this read!

First there's the synopsis.  I mean, does that sound like a good plot or does that sound like a good plot?  I love that this is a book about family and love.  Those are always the best kind of books.  Fangirl, anyone? How about If I Stay?

I also appreciate that the book is marketed to fans of John Green, David Levithan, and Rainbow Rowell.  I LOVE all of those authors, so I'll Give You The Sun sounds like something that will suit my interests.

The quote used at the beginning of this post made me literally laugh out loud; "There should be a horn or gong or something to wake God.  Because I'd like to have a word with him.  Three words actually: WHAT THE FUCK?!".   If this is any indicator of the humor that will be found in this book then sign me up!

And then, there's the fact that Warner Bros. recently acquired the movie rights to the novel.  If the book has movie potential then it has to be good, right?

What do you think?  Will you be reading I'll Give You The Sun?

Talk to you in the comments section below!  Have a great rest of your week:)
