Book Haul | Treat Yo Self

Hello, everyone!

I hope you all are doing well.

I hope that you have had a great start to you school year and to the lovely month of September.

I hope that you are reading books you enjoy.

And, I hope that you are buying new books.

The prospect of new books, of new worlds and characters, always puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart.  That is why I decided to splurge on some new books (also because my school bookshelf was looking a little empty)(also because I was kinda in a rut about the fact that I was back in school and summer was over)(also because retail therapy is the best kind of therapy).

I took a trip over to BookOutlet.com and did a little shopping.  They've got some pretty great prices on some popular titles.  Also, all the books I received from them were brand new and in great condition.  So I highly recommend this site!  Here are the books I recently bought in my treat yo self splurge (I have never bought this many books at one time):

1) Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

2) The Beginning of After by Jennifer Castle

3) This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales

4) The Death Cure by James Dashner

5) Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

6) Cinder by Marissa Meyer

7) Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

8) This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers

9) Memoirs Of A Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

I have heard really great things about all of these books and I am super excited to read them.  I have been putting off finishing The Maze Runner series for quite some time.  I didn't really enjoy The Scorch Trials, but I've been told that The Death Cure is better.  So, fingers crossed!

Give Me All the Bookish Deets!

  1. Have you read any of the books from the list above?  If so, which ones?  And, how did you like them?
  2.  Do you have an opinion on which of these books I should read first? (Because I totally can't decide.)  Let me know!
  3. Are any of these in your TBR?

Thanks for dropping by!  Talk to you soon.

  1. This song will save your life was really good, it made an impression on me and I don't read many contemporaries. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shadow and bone & Cinder. Such an unique fairytale retelling. This is not a test was very good too, but I didn't like the open ending - until she announced that there is a sequel on the way :D Happy reading!

    1. Thanks so much for your input, Mel. I will probably read Shadow & Bone or Cinder next because I've been reading a lot of contemporary lately and I need a change of genre. I will add your recommendations to the top of my TBR list! Thanks for dropping by:)

    1. Yeah, I've read some pretty mixed reviews about Of Poseidon. So, we'll see how that goes. I hope I like it, because if I don't that would have been a waste. Thanks for commenting!

    1. I'm excited for Ruby Red! I don't get to read much historical fiction or time travel. So, this book should be a good change of pace for me. Thanks for dropping by, Eileen! :)
