Synopsis: The epic made simple. The miracle in the mundane.

One day, while browsing an antique store in Helena, Montana, photographer Tyler Knott Gregson stumbled upon a vintage Remington typewriter for sale. Standing up and using a page from a broken book he was buying for $2, he typed a poem without thinking, without planning, and without the ability to revise anything.

He fell in love.

Three years and almost one thousand poems later, Tyler is now known as the creator of the Typewriter Series: a striking collection of poems typed onto found scraps of paper or created via blackout method.Chasers of the Light features some of his most insightful and beautifully worded pieces of work—poems that illuminate grand gestures and small glimpses, poems that celebrate the beauty of a life spent chasing the light.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine that features highly anticipated new book releases!

Why I'm Waiting for Chasers of the Light

If you've never heard of Tyler Knott Gregson, then you're doing everything wrong, it's as simple as that.

It turns out that if you're a regular crawler of the interweb, you probably have come across some of Gregson's work.  For example, have you ever seen anything that looks like this?

Poems from Gregson's Typewriter Series flood websites like Tumblr and Pinterest.  And now, some of his best have been compiled into a book: Chasers of the Light.

Gregson writes some of the most beautiful, romantic, and thought-provoking poetry I have ever read.

To be honest, I am not a fan of poetry.  I would choose prose over poetry any day.  But, Gregson changed that for me.  Whenever I see one of his poems I have to stop and read it.  I think that what's unique about his writing is the presentation; Gregson uses his typewriter to write poetry on random scraps of paper that he finds here, there and everywhere, thereby turning something menial into a beautiful piece of art.  I also love that he keeps his poems short and sweet and full of meaning.

I was thrilled to learn that Gregson would be releasing some of his poems in book format.  I think that this is going to be a book that will contain enough wisdom to carry readers through a lifetime.

Tyler Knott Gregson is a romantic, poetic genius and I cannot wait to get my hands on Chasers of the Light.

Talk to you later m'lovelies:)
