I'd Like to Thank The Blogosphere...

I don't know why I have put this off for so long, but since I have been nominated for a Liebster Award three times now, I figured I'd make a post about it.  First I want to thank those who nominated me:

Chloe at Epitome of Words
Vicki at Lil Miss Vix Reads
Jen at Twenties Chic

And, I also want to thank all of you who are reading this right now.  If it wasn't for all of you, I would not be motivated to keep this blog up.  I love writing, but I also love interacting with you guys.  All of your positive responses to my posts, and all of the friends that I've made doing this--you all keep me going.  So, thank you so much!

In case you're wondering, the Liebster Blog Award is an award that is given to new (having less than 200 followers), interesting bloggers.  It's a great way to connect with other bloggers and expand your audience.

Here are the rules:
  • Post 11 random facts about yourself.
  • Answer the 11 questions asked by whoever nominated you.
  • Ask 11 new questions to 9 bloggers with less than 200 followers. You cannot re-nominate the blog that nominated you.
  • Go to their blog and tell them that they have been nominated!
So, here we go...

11 Facts About Me

  • I have never been able to keep a fish alive for more than two days.
  • I am crazy obsessed with Chris Hemsworth.  I think he is the finest man in Hollywood and always will be.
  • I can't swim!
  • I'm left handed.
  • I visited NYC, Washington, DC, and Atlantic City for the first time this summer!
  • I have never been in love or in a serious relationship.
  • I dream of working in Public Relations, Publishing, or Television Writing.
  • My mom and my sisters have allergies, so I've never owned a cat or a dog.  But, I really want a dog. I can't wait until I get my own place because getting a dog will be the first thing on my list.
  • I LOVE country music.  (I'm so obsessed with Thomas Rhett and Jana Kramer right now.)
  • The last concert I went to was Florence & The Machine's Ceremonials Tour in Raleigh, NC.  I can't wait for her to release some new music.

Answering Questions...I Feel Cool

1) What got you into blogging in the first place?

I love writing.  It's one of my very few talents, something I've always been told that I'm good at.  I also love reading, and watching movies and television.  So, I decided that I would combine these loves and create a blog.  I wanted to be able to share my thoughts on my favorite shows and books and movies with people from all over the world.  And, so far I've succeeded in doing that.  Blogging makes me happy:)

2) What's your favourite book and why?

This is really really hard.  I mean, it's torture.  I am going to say that my favorite book is...My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.  I started reading Jodi Picoult when I was in high school.  I remember the first book of hers that I read was Vanishing Acts.  But, My Sister's Keeper really got me into her books and back into reading in general.  It was an amazing story about familial love that just really touched my heart.  I absolutely love her books.  They are so thought-provoking and real and emotional.  And, I think that if you haven't read anything by Jodi Picoult, you definitely need to.  Like, NOW.

3) What was the last film you saw at the cinema and what did you think of it?

Lucy, and it was terrible.  Absolutely terrible.  The whole time I was watching it all I could think was, "I should have seen The Purge instead."

4) Do you have a favourite song?

This is another really really hard question.  I am going to pick 'Look After You' by my all-time favorite band The Fray.

But, there are also other songs that I really love like 'Delicate' by Damien Rice and 'Overjoyed' by Bastille (Oh my God, I am so in love with Bastille right now!).  And, I also love 'Make It To Me' by Sam Smith and 'The River' by Sam Garrett and 'No Faith in Brooklyn' by Hoodie Allen!  I love ALL the music, you guys.

5) If you could live in any fictional world (i.e. Narnia) where would you choose?

I would live in The Shadowhunter World, being the world where Shadowhunters exist.  I need Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs and Jace Lightwood and Simon Lewis and Magnus Bane in my life.

6) Who would your dream fictional husband/wife be?

Will Herondale?  I mean...he's perfect?  (I'm not sure why I'm putting question marks at the end of my sentences?)

7) Do you have a favourite cartoon character?

Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls.

8) Do you prefer eBooks or physical ones? Which do you read most often?

I prefer physical books.  I bought a Kindle this summer and I've been reading eBooks.  But, I definitely read physical books more often.  The Kindle comes in handy at night when I'm laying in bed reading--that way I can read with the lights out, and if I fall asleep it'll cut off by itself.  But, I find that even if I buy an eBook, I want the physical version.  For example, I just finished the Shatter Me series and I absolutely love it.  And, I wish I would have bought the physical copies so that I could put them on my bookshelves.  I'm literally just addicted to buying books and being able to watch my collection grow.  Does that make sense?

9) What's your favourite TV show?

Again with the difficult questions.  I have two all-time favorite shows (no, I can't choose between them):

LOST and Friday Night Lights.

10) Why did you choose your blog name? Is there a story behind it?

I honestly can't remember why I chose Girl Writes Reviews.  I feel like I got the inspiration from somewhere, but I don't remember.  But, I liked it, and it stuck.  I feel like it's pretty self-explanatory.  Like, you know what you're going to get when you come to this blog.

11) In the film of your life, who would play you? And what would you call it?

In the film of my life, Kerry Washington would play me.  Because, why not?
And, it would be called:  Leave No Path Untaken.
...
That sounds rather ominous doesn't it?

  1. I know exactly what you mean about physical books, there's something so satisfying about seeing your shelves fill up! Even more so if the covers are nice! eBooks are handy but they're just not the same...

    1. If I think a book has a pretty cover then I'm definitely buying the physical copy! Yeah, I love to watch my shelves fill up and overflow. Most of the books on them are books that I haven't read yet and don't have time to read. #bookloverproblems Thanks for dropping by and thanks for the nomination!
